Outsource what you don’t know
There comes a time where you just don’t have time to learn yourself everything about SEO and marketing and everything else you are supposed to know to run a successful blog and make money on the Internet. But don’t blame yourself, you should be very organized and have awesome time management skills to get around everything from making your own product, running a blog, twitter, spend time on your mailing list and all the SEO things with article writing, hubpages and squidoo lenses.
I worked and played with some keywords too, but when talking to a SEO guy that I’ve been buying services from, he told me I was doing everything wrong.
That was when I thought.. why try to use a lot of time with squidoo and hubpages when all the hours I will put into it, probably will be wrong. The keywords will be all messed up and the end result will not be as good as $30 dollars will get me.
So I started to outsource the work tasks that I didn’t want to spend a lot of time learning myself. So even though I haven’t been that active on my blog lately there is still work being done. I’m working on a web show and creating my own product and at the same time I got two people writing hubpages and squidoo lenses for me. I got another one submitting my site and rss feed to 1000’s of directories. I didn’t even know of more then 20 of them. Then when my hubpages and squidoo lenses are done they are to be submitted all around the 1000’s of directories too.
I got a graphic guy that made me a bunch of banners and found a source of highly traffic blogs that had very cheap advertising rates. The traffic is not that bad but not always that targeted either so I have some mixed feelings around this. But I got time to work on other stuff at the same time there is other people helping me to succeed with my blog.
I’m not telling you to not learn new things. You should learn why you need stuff like Twitter, squidoo and hubpages. You should learn why good designed banners will make you more clicks then if you just try to make something yourself in Windows Paint. You should know what to do and why you need to do it but you should also know that you don’t need to do it all yourself. That’s how the big marketers do it. It’s just more time to do what you wanted to do in the first time.

Hello Thomas,
You’ve got a lot of content here … and outsourcing is a great idea. I know it’s a tiny insignificant detail … but I find I at least have to know what I want to ask for if I want it outsourced … no avoiding the learning curve!
Have a great day!
Angela
Almost forgot – just noticed new header! Have you done a comparison on which one pulls better for you? This one is definitely more “personable”.
Hey Tommy,
Where you been dude? Hanging out with that friend of yours Marius?
Nice post BTW. I always read what my Viking friend has to say.
Tommy, I sent you THREE emails about something I am pretty interested in. Thought you might be too. Just find the lastest one and email me back. I figured you must be busy or away or something.
Gary
Hey man !!
This is a real good post :)
I put a simular themed post up on my blog earlier about ‘Time’ and what people do with theirs ….
I think your right, if you can afford it then you have to outsource certain tasks .. It makes sense right ?! Theres only so much 1 person can do
Thanks for the info, let us know how you get on
Dean
Hi Thomas,
The reason I don’t outsource as much as I should is really plain laziness. That may sound strange given that outsourcing is about shedding your workload but the fact is that to outsource you must also be organised. If you’re not you have stuff coming back at you in uncoordinated ways.
That said I do outscource some things, but not blog posts nor twitter tweets.
One thing I’ve learned about outsourcing is that if you find someone good then care must be taken both to nurture their tallent whilst also not sharing too much of the big picture.
I trained one guy so well he’s out there on his own now. Actually I feel good about that but I don’t want to make it a habit!
At bthe moment I’m heavily into the Affiliate Funnel System and also building ncihe blogs. The Affiliate Funnel System is a powerful training and if I can figure out how to split down the components and outsource parts to several people I’ll be a very happy bunny.
I hope oursorcing continues to work well for you.
All the best,
Stephen
